This advice may not benefit you, but at least we tried.

Also see 'Household Hints.'

PRESSURE: Close your eyes and then cover them with the palms of your hands, applying light pressure. do this for 2 minutes and then release. (your vision may be blurred for a few seconds afterwards.)

PEPPERMINT TE BAGS: Some say peppermint is supposedly a soothing herb. Place a peppermint tea bag over both eyes, for 5 minutes.

LIMIT T.V., PHONE AND AVOID BRIGHT LIGHTS: Some may already know this but for those who don't, these things put strain on your eyes which may not help your headaches.

VISIT AN OPTICIAN: You may in fact need glasses. Who knows right?

MASSAGE PRESSURE POINTS: Massaging specific pressure points may aid in some relief, these include; Temples, Shoulders, Back of the neck (including just below the skull base), or any other areas you may be experiencing pressure or pain. Essential oils may aid with massage.

MASSAGE FACE: A massage of areas including the temples, forehead, the area between the eyebrows, and cheek/jaw muscles may relieve tension in the face.

MASSAGE THE HANDS: Funnily enough hand massages can relieve stress in a different way. who knows, it might work.

COMPRESS (HOT): Place a heated compress on: your forehead, back of the neck or head.

COMPRESS (COLD): Same as a hot compress, apply to your forehead, back of your neck or the head.

(Compresses can be used in conjunction with all areas, although i would not advise the placement of hot and cold simultaneously.)

HERBAL TEA: It is said by herbalists that herbal tea's offer calming properties. In addition, it is also believed that sipping on hot beverages aids a person psychologically also.

COFFEE: Caffeine reduces blood-vessel swelling and this may be beneficial to relieving or reducing your headache.

(be aware that sugar can create or increase a headache so you might want to take that into consideration.)

WATER: Do you drink enough water? dehydration can cause headache, along with some other very nasty symptoms. try to increase water consumption.

SCENTS: Essential oils or scented oils are a natural calming remedy used by people for various reasons. Try placing some of this oil on a tissue or some other material and inhale. (Lavender is believed to reduce stress, but try something that may suit you.)

PSYCHOLOGICAL REMEDIES: If you are able to, find a quiet area and close your eyes and imagine beautiful sceneries and surroundings, maybe take some time to enjoy the little things like the warmth of sunlight, the sound of rain. Turn off noisy appliances and bask in complete quietness. (flick the main power switch to your house, its amazing that even lights can be heard subconsciously.)

'SOUNDS': maybe some nice relaxing music may help relax a little bit. e.g. ocean waves, or birds chirping, etc (just a theory)

BREATHING: Try and control breathing patterns. slow deep breaths will increase oxygen to the brain and may help the headache just that little bit.
